Pastor Jim was appointed to Christ UMC in 2005.
He says, "I enjoy the rich spiritual heritage of Christ United Methodist Church. Our members are passionate about glorifying God with heart, mind and soul. The words of a Wesleyan hymn are lived out in practice, "Unite the pair so long disjoined, knowledge and vital piety.""
Pastor Jim's personal mission statement is "to facilitate, inspire, and live an authentic faith in Jesus Christ."
Since 1982, he has been serving churches in the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church which include Strongsville UMC, Chapel Hill UMC, Franklin & Adario UM Churches, Streetsboro UMC, and Vermilion Grace UMC. He has served the conference in various capacities on the Board of Camp and Retreat Ministries, and the Pastoral Care Commission. He is qualified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and had done extensive learning and training in Family Systems. He is a graduate of Youngstown State University with a BS in Computer Science. In 1982 he receive a Master of Divinity Degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.
Pastor Jim has been married to Kate E. Cox since 1982. Kate is also an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church. Though having children was not a part of God's plan for their lives they both enjoy embracing the children of the Church with the love of God.
He enjoys camping, traveling, playing the marimba and guitar, photography and fixing things.
