Born on 16 January 1982, I grew up just outside the city limits of Chillicothe, Ohio. I have a 30-year-old brother who is a computer wiz. My dad is a factory worker and has served the local church by being a deacon, worship leader, and parking lot attendant. My mom has been a schoolteacher and has served the local church as a Sunday school teacher. I have been extremely blessed to have two Christian parents that daily lift me up in prayer and are fully dedicated to living their lives for Christ. As a result I have been in church my whole life. I have not lived one month in which, I did not find myself in the house of the Lord multiply times. At the age of four at my neighbors VBS an elderly lady challenged us to accept Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, and I prayed the prayer for Him to save me. I served God faithfully until sixth grade where all of a sudden I was living my life according to my own will. One night in the spring of seventh grade I realized I needed to completely surrender my life to God, and live according to His plan and not my own. I gave my life completely over to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and fifteen years later I must say it is the best decision I ever made.
The summer before high school (1996) I went on a mission trip to Monterey, Mexico. There we taught VBS, went door-to-door evangelizing, hosted open-air serves, and put on a roof of a poverty stricken church. The memories of the trip will last a lifetime. While in high school I played Junior Varsity Basketball. I played bass guitar in a praise band, worked at Kmart and was very involved in the youth group. I stayed close to home for college. I attended Ohio Christian University (Circleville Bible College), and got a Bachelors degree in Christian Ministries. During college I worked in the dining hall, and also served as a nighttime security guard. I played basketball all four years and was a student leader in youth ministry.
Immediately following college I was accepted into seminary and had to say goodbye to a youth group I deeply loved. I stood there in tears as the students prayed a final blessing for me. I moved to Wilmore, Kentucky and attended Asbury Theological Seminary. With God all things are possible, in 09’ I graduated with “Masters of Divinity.” During seminary and shortly their after I was an assistant basketball coach for three years. I served the local church and helped with their youth ministry. I worked with at risk teens for four and three quarter’s years at the “Kentucky United Methodist Home for Children and Youth.” I am set to resign from the home on July 17th and move to Ashland, Ohio to become the Youth Director of “Christ United Methodist Church.”
